Aluminum sulphate mainly used water treatment.
In wastewater treatment, aluminum sulfate is a commonly used treatment agent, mainly used to accelerate the coagulation of suspended substances into large particles, thereby facilitating sedimentation or filtration, and achieving the goal of removing pollutants.
In addition, aluminum sulfate can also react with other pollutants in the sewage treatment process to form sediment, playing an important role in controlling water quality. Meanwhile, aluminum sulfate can also be used as a denitrification and dephosphorization agent, reducing the content of nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus.
Other applications:
1. Used as a paper sizing agent in the papermaking industry to enhance the water resistance and anti-seepage performance of paper;
2. After being dissolved in water, it can cause small particles and natural gel particles in the water to condense into large flocs, which can be removed from the water. Therefore, it is used as a coagulant for water supply and wastewater;
3. Used as a purifying agent for turbid water, as well as a precipitant, fixative, filler, etc. Used as an anti sweat cosmetic ingredient (astringent) in cosmetics;
4. In the fire protection industry, foam extinguishing agent is composed of baking soda and foaming agent;
5. Analytical reagents, mordants, tanning agents, oil decolorizing agents, wood preservatives;
6. Stabilizers for albumin pasteurization (including liquid or frozen whole eggs, protein or egg yolks);
7. Can be used as raw materials for manufacturing artificial gemstones, high-grade ammonium alum, and other aluminates;
8. In the fuel industry, it serves as a precipitant in the production of chrome yellow and lake dyes, while also serving as a fixing and filling agent.
9. Used as an effective crosslinking agent for animal glue and can improve its viscosity. It is also used as a curing agent for urea formaldehyde adhesives, and the curing speed of 20% aqueous solution is fast.
